With Sam Pullen

Embodied Reflection is a teacher-training experience designed to deepen personal awareness, strengthen self-inquiry, and support the development of an authentic teaching voice.

Through somatic movement, breathwork, nervous-system awareness, meditation, and guided reflection, trainees will explore how their own lived experiences, patterns, beliefs, emotions, and embodied responses influence the way they practice, communicate, hold space, and teach.

Rather than focusing solely on what to teach, Embodied Reflection asks teachers to become curious about who they are when they teach.

Trainees will practice listening to the body as a source of information, noticing patterns of activation, resistance, ease, habit, and intuition. Through this process, they can begin to distinguish between teaching from expectation or imitation and teaching from a place of greater presence, clarity, and personal truth.

The intention is not to create one particular teaching style. Instead, trainees are encouraged to recognize what feels authentic to them and develop the confidence to let their own voice, values, experiences, and embodied wisdom inform their teaching.

Embodied Reflection invites teachers to slow down enough to notice themselves, deepen their relationship with their own nervous system, and cultivate the self-awareness necessary to meet students with greater presence and responsiveness.

As personal awareness deepens, teaching becomes less about performing the role of a yoga teacher and more about genuinely inhabiting it.

Ultimately, this practice supports teachers in becoming more embodied, intentional, adaptable, and authentic—allowing what they teach to emerge from what they have personally explored, experienced, and integrated.

Teacher Bio:

Sam Pullen, a Louisiana native, is passionate about sharing the practice of yoga with all walks of life, be it asanas—movement, pranayama—breathwork, meditation—deep stillness, and/or sound healing. Over the years, she has studied to become a 500-hour RYT Yoga Teacher, as well as a Yoga Therapist C-IAYT, who specializes in working with individuals and groups around stress, trauma, anxiety, and depression. She’s also passionate about helping people discover practices that serve them well in terms of nervous system regulation. It is important to her to help individuals, as well as the community, to develop a balanced relationship between physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs within one’s own ecosystem. Sam is the self-described yoga nerd who loves to chat and learn from others about this beautiful practice.

Whether you have your 200-hour Teacher Training or are interested in more experience in your yoga practice, this program meets you exactly where you are.
